Runners sans the carbon footprint

French footwear brand Veja is possibly one of the most ethical footwear brands on the market at the moment. From sourcing and the production cycle, right through to packaging, distribution, the soles of the Veja shoes are from rubber trees in the Amazon and the mesh on the Veja trainers are recycled from plastic bottles.

Veja pays their co-operative cotton growers and rubber tappers between 30% and 100% above the world market price. By not advertising, they are able to invest more money into strengthening their ethical practices.

Sales in the first few years doubled and in 2015, sales increased by 30%.Celebrity fans include Marion Cotillard and Emma Watson.

Not only are Veja’s runners promoting renewable resources and advancing the cause of sustainable fashion, but they look super cool, too
